Una metodología formal para calcular el peso que los electores le dan a los elementos de evaluación ideológica

Rational Choice Theory has been used extensively in electoral studies. This theory suggeststhat a voter chooses the political party that is closer to his or her ideology. However,there is scant empirical evidence on which issues are considered in a particular electionand their relative weight on the voters calculations. This paper presents a new model forelectoral studies using mathematical optimization. It is shown that this model allowsfor better explanations of electoral outcomes, assigning with a clear methodology theweight that each issue has used on voters choice.
