Las primeras democracias en Hispanoamérica

Este artículo pretende mostrar la disparidad conceptual que algunos autores tienen respecto de la democracia, quienes a pesar de contar con una perspectiva procedimental de la misma no concuerdan con su clasificación para situar el año de inicio de las democracias en regímenes políticos hispanoamericanos entre finales del siglo xix y principios del xx. Por tal razón, este trabajo propone un criterio eje para clasificar las democracias y aplicarlo a países en Hispanoamérica durante el periodo mejor conocido como la primera ola. Posteriormente, se realiza un análisis comparativo entre estas democracias tempranas. Por último, se presenta un esquema explicativo que permite identificar las variables independientes del avance democrático en esta región durante este periodo histórico.
