Abstract
The first part of this essay presents the main arguments of Robert Putnam's Making Democracy Work. The number of critiques that the provocative ideas developed in this 1s301c have been substantial. The purpose of this essay is to present, in a systematic way, the main critiques this book has recieved. Finally, it offers an evaluation of them.
